The Role

Our client requires an experienced Finance Officer who is available for an immediate start. Reporting to the State Manager, you will be responsible for effective and timely provision of financial reports, data entry, rent records, bank reconciliations; rent reviews, accounts payable and other relevant financial requests.

Expectations of the role consist of but are not limited to the following;

  • Finance functions within the area of the position’s responsibility are planned, co-ordinated, implemented and administered.

  • Cost centre budgets are prepared, and performance against budget is reviewed regularly with corrective action taken to ensure that budgets are met.

  • Financial procedures are followed, with judgement and initiative exercised where practices and direction are not clearly defined.

  • Accurate and appropriate expert financial advice is provided under general direction from more senior employees.

  • Established financial procedures, guidelines and statutory requirements are observed, and monthly, quarterly and annual reporting requirements are met on time.

  • Programs, work practices and planning are established, and problems are defined and addressed.

  • Tenant records are accurately maintained, meet all funding body and legislative requirements and monthly reporting to government is accurate and on time.

  • Tenant service delivery data is accurate and up to date and collected using the Chintaro information management system.


Qualifications, Experience and Competencies

  • Associate diploma with substantial experience or a less formal qualification with specialist skills

  • Demonstrate knowledge of housing sector including role, context, principles, philosophies, policies, regulations and legislation

  • Demonstrate knowledge of homelessness including context, causes, issues, philosophies and legislation
